Who should join GIN, and who should not

I have watched people come into this club for fifteen years. The ones who thrive and the ones who fizzle are easy to tell apart, usually on day one.

Thrives
Teachable, already doing okay in life, wants better
Fizzles
Broke, desperate, needy, entitled, or carrying a grievance
Biggest mistake
Expecting the membership to hand you relationships and opportunities
Test
Did Your Wish Is Your Command resonate?
Verdict

The people who do well

They are teachable. That is number one. And they are already doing okay: not in an emergency, stable with a job, maybe a family, generally fine and wanting to get better. Those are the people who get the most from GIN. There is a saying in Freemasonry — we take good men and make them better. GIN is the same way.

The people who fizzle

Too broke, too desperate, too needy. A sense of entitlement. A sense that they have been wronged in life. A sense of victimhood. Somehow they join anyway, and they always fizzle out quickly, and they always leave feeling like they were ripped off. It would not matter what they joined. GIN is here to help the able become more able. It is not here to save the poor and the hungry and the broke.

The mistake new members make

They expect everything to be handed to them. They think that because they joined and showed up to an event, members will give them free life coaching and business opportunities. They think they paid to get in the front door and heaven's gates open.

What they miss is that you have to become the kind of person other members want to associate with. You go make relationships, and you build them over years. You work on the training when you are not at events. You become someone who is successful, and whom successful people want to associate with.

Staying teachable

Even the people who do well go through a cycle. You implement the training, your life improves, and you relish it. When you are relishing your victories you are not very teachable. You have to get discontent with where you are again, and hungry again, to keep receiving. Members who last learn to run that cycle on purpose.

The test

Listen to Your Wish Is Your Command. If it does not resonate, it is pointless to do anything else. If it does, read what GIN costs and decide whether the dues are comfortable money.
